Our organization was unaware of the recent Mundelein meeting and therefore did not attend. The EJ&E tracks back up to our townhome association. When the trains come by there is a substantial amount of noise and a fair amount of shaking that takes place. When we all moved here, within the past 7 years or so it was with the understanding that the train traffic was unfrequent. With the proposed purchase of the EJ&E by CN and the subsequent four fold increase in traffic, the noise pollution will become unreasonable. Additionally, all of our property values will suffer. This increase in traffic will also have a significant negative effect on traffic flow north and south on Rt. 21, Milwaukee Ave, which crosses the EJ&E tracks in Librtyville. Rt 21 is one of the major north-south roads in our area. Our entire area now suffers from significant north-south auto traffic congestion. To increase train traffic to approximately 20 trains per 24 hour period, would bring an already difficult situation to an impossible condition. Traffic will be tied up at the Rt 21 surface crossing, further adding to the noth-south auto traffic congestion. The amount of additional polution caused by additional traffic back-ups will be injurious to all of the communities in the area. Thank you Norbert Klincik Treasurer Pinehurst Homeowners Association
