We recently attended the scoping meeting in Barrington, IL. As residents of Barrington we are deeply concerned about the effects that the acquistion would have on traffic congestion as well as noise pollution. Since the railway crosses 2 vital intersections in our downtown community it could cripple response times with emergency vehicles. Additionally, we have many children who travel via bus or car to our schools and often cross those intersections. It would increase the already long time that those students are on the busses. Also, it could cripple our town which is trying to revitalize itself. Because our town has two vital arteries where the train line crosses, I personally would avoid driving into town because of the increase in traffic. We are also concerned with the increase in noise from double tracking as well as horns. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
