1. All the major roads that service the Barrington community are crossed by the EJ&E tracks. These roads are extremely congested from about 6:00am until about 7:00pm in the evening. We sure don't need 20 to 30 trains a day making travel in the community almost impossible. 2. I am concerned about emergency vechicles getting around quickly and safely with their progress impeded by large numbers of long freight trains. All of the roads to our hospital from the largest portion of Barrington must cross the EJ&E tracks at grade level. 3. The EJ&E tracks pass very close to Barrington High School. There is heavy foot traffic across the tracks at Main Street along with large numbers of school buses. I am very concerned with the safety of the kids trying to get to and from school. All of the buses that service the large school population are located and stored adejacent to the tracks at Main street. 4. Since the EJ&E tracks are adejacent to many residential neighborhoods which will be severely impacted by noise and air pollution caused by the heavy rail traffic from the CN railroad trains. 5. I cannot believe that the sale of the EJ&E to a foreign carrier can be in the best interest of the United States.
