RE: STB Finance Docket #35087 Is This The American Way? Is it the American way when a foreign company can say to Illinois residents, in order to make more money it is necessary to endanger your community. That is exactly what Canadian National wants to do to many suburban cities. Thousands of individuals and hundreds of businesses will be negatively affected by Canadian Nationals desire to streamline their operations. The Village of Plainfield has 17 crossings, only one is grade separated. Forty-two trains, each 10,000 feet long will bring our Village to a standstill. Ambulances, police cars, school buses, fire trucks and of course, commuters will be waiting, waiting for CN so they can improve their surface transportation while Plainfield's surface transportation is stopped at 16 train crossings.
