My concerns with this proposed acquisition are: 1. Water and water quality protection as this is an area that relies upon acquifers to provide all drinking water to residents. The waterways surround the rail line. Increase in rail traffic will adversly affect these wetlands. 2. Impact on area roadways as this line crosses area roadways at six locations in Barrington alone and also crosses a Metra communter rail line. The area roads are currently VERY congested and almost at a standstill just from traffic lights and the METRA line alone. Additional congestion will force traffic, where possible, to rural roads which are not designed for high traffic volumes. 3. Increases in noise pollution, air pollution and water pollution will impact the quality of life in the area. 4. Life safety as the area hospital is separated from the main town by this rail line as are the fire stations. This rail line also separates the Barrington high school from town and there are are large number of school buses which cross this line. 5. CN has a VERY poor safety record. 6. The sale of one more American asset to a foreign entity. Another step in the Sale of America"."
