RE: HR6707 I was extremely disappointed, but not surprised, that HR 6707 was not decided with the interests of residents, businesses, and public safety in mind. In view of the current economic meltdown, largely caused by special interests, greed and incompetent CEOs and politicians, one would think that our government and its agencies would be more concerned with serving the PUBLIC GOOD rather than a giant business entity like C.N.. Please consider all of the ramifications of a huge increase in rail traffic through neighborhoods and villages. The issues of safety, and congestion are crucial, but possibly worse yet is, is the loss of the quiet charm that residents have invested their lives in. Stop the sale of EJ&J to C.N.. It is what's right, responsible, and the ethical duty of the Surface Transportation Board.
