Please see attached D-EIS comments from the Village of Park Forest, a community along the EJ&E rail arc in Park Forest. We believe this pending action can have a crippling effect on our community inasmuch as it impacts numerous aspects of daily life in Park Forest such as schools, emergency service operations, economic development, property values, and general overall quality of life for our 24,000+ residents. I have also included the Village's original submission from January of this year regarding our initial thoughts on this pending acquisition. I look forward to any follow up questions the STB might have in its due diligence. In particular, please note the reference of our taking actual video footage of rail traffic through our community, its very slow rate of speed, the duration that traffic is impacted and the frequency in which existing trains come to a complete halt across Western Avenue. This footage is based on nearly 2 months of round-the-clock surveillance with only 8 trains per day passing through Park Forest. The future is ominous for Park Forest when faced with the prospects of increasing the number of trains by 400%, train cars by 500% and tonnage by 700%!
