I believe that CN's proposed acquisition of EJ&E will have a big negative impact in the area which is the opposite of local interest. I personally pass the rail crossing every day at Lake Cook Road in Barrington, IL, and I can tell it is not the best interest of the residents of Barrington and surrounding neighborhood, it is not the best interest of local businesses, and it poses danger to local communities. I am absolutely sure that it will cause a big traffic congestion in Barrington, and that is not an interest of residents west of Barrington. Here in Algonquin, we even do not have public transportation, and driving to work for the residents of this area is critical. Many people in this area work in west of Rt. 53 (I-290) and a traffic congestion at Barrington on every day basis is a nuisance for everyone. Moreover, there's a safety issue involved in this, and I do not think it is feasible to expand the rail road for large cargo trains on every day basis. People have already established the towns along EJ&E for a long time, and not only it will create an unsafe condition, but it will destroy the neighborhood if CN's proposal is approved. CN's proposal for acquisition of EJ&E is a totally selfish, disrespectful proposal that will only benefit the rail company. The residents of Chicago northwest suburb should deserve a respect. Please vote to oppose the proposal. Please fight on behalf of the residents of Chicago northwest suburb. Thank you.
