I have sent in and had recorded many statements as to why allowing CN to purchase the EJ&E line would be detrimental not only to our town, but also to the Northwest suburbs as a whole. Just today, a freight train sat between two crossing; Lake Zurich Road and Cuba Road. Because of this freight just sitting idle on the tracks, it blocked two road crossings, keeping people in the Lake Zurich and Barrington areas from get through the crossings. IDOT, who should have done and provided you with a traffic study on the major roads; Northwest HWY, Route 59 and Lake Cook Road, I've been told has not. These are very heavily traveled roads in our surrounding communities. So you see, not only would this purchase change our lives for the worse, but it would also drastically and negatively affect people and businesses around the Northwest suburbs. People who use these roads to get to and from work and truck their goods and services. Our economy is already hanging by a thread. Why should our lives and financial well being suffer to benefit the wallets of a foreign freight company? Really??? Please, PLEASE, tell me that our country and it's citizens come before a foreign company's financial gain. We are all depending on you and your board to make the right decision and do the right thing. That would be to deny CN the opportunity to make financial gains while we american citizens suffer great losses. Sincerely, Lisa Angelina
