I am writing to state my concerns regarding the STB Finance Docket No. 35087 and CN's proposed acquisition of the EJ&E railway line. I think it's very unrealistic to assume there will not be a need to build bypasses since the amount of auto traffic flowing thru Barrington to other NW suburbs is immense. I have to believe at this point the plan will be approved due to the rising cost of gas and Chicago politics" but good luck with the fallout it creates. Having grown up on the North Shore and later moving out to Barrington, it seems to me there was little urban planning done as the growth of the NW corridor increased and now we all suffer here from that lack of planning with gridlock traffic and semitrucks having to use residential streets. To add yet another layer to this already overloaded structure with increased train traffic is sure to have wide ranging effects to the entire area. The number of commuters who live far from the train line in question but use Barrington in their route home, I believe, is greater than you think. We are all going to be required to make changes in our lives as the economy and environmental deterioration require us to but this is not a solution. I believe you are only going to add to the existing problems of this area not to mention force further urban sprawl and it's resulting effects. Please note my dissent on this matter. We are all watching this and our elected officials responses closely. Thank you."
