I ask that you reject the request by Canadian National to purchase the tracks of the EJ&E railroad. CN see no need to pick-up the tab for any of the mitigation funding for the damage they will inflict to communities along the track. With the increase traffic and longer train length even if the money was available once the trains start rolling CN will not stop using the tracks so that the changes can be constructed. Residential housing value inpact was ignored without any real analysis, If this puchace goes through, especially with the housing market as it is now, you will make the home near the tracks worthless. taking only investment many people have. The study contain large amount of unsubstantiated and unsourced data or data which was supplied by CN so there is no way to validate the analysis. There is a reference in the document of discussions with the Dupage Forest preserve system that the president says never occured. Please reject the purchase of the EJ&E tracks and preserve the quality of life that the people along the EJ&E have a right to expect.
