No, No, NO to CN acquisition of EJ&E. During cardiac arrest, one’s brain cells begin to die immediately and brain and permanent death start to occur within four to six minutes. For every minute that passes without defibrillation, survival chances decrease seven to ten percent. In just eight to ten minutes, death is almost certain. Fire department concerns are likewise REAL. Fire doubles in size every minute and can totally engulf a home in three to four minutes. This scares all of us. Imagine it against the backdrop of two mile trains. Imagine the emergency vehicles waiting at the crossing, sirens blaring and lights frantically blinking as TWO MILES of train roll slowly by. Imagine how little time between trains when they number forty-plus every day, almost two per hour. I live at the intersection of two streets already heavily trafficked by trains. Already I find them disquieting and inconvenient. Quadruple them? No, no, no, no! Please don't allow this to happen. It benefits no one except profiteers totally unrelated to and unconcerned with our community welfare.
