It has been brought to our attention that there will be an increase of train traffic running on the EJ&E tracks through our neighorhood. We currently experience about 6 to 9 trains a day; this increase will take the train traffic up to 28 plus trains in any given day. Even taking out the fact that our home will decrease in value we will now be forced to spend our tax dollar to upgrade the train crossing to ensure safty. This investment should come from the company who is wanting to substantially increase train traffic through a residential area; this should be the cost of doing business on these tracks not an expense incurred by the tax payer. It is concerning to think that this company has no regard for the safty of the residents of these neighborhoods this is merely to benefit a private company. It will cost tax payers more to upgrade the crossing than it will be for the company to purchase the train line; they gain and we loose. They gain inrease profits we loose increase taxes, smog, conjestion, noise, safety and a substantial change in our quality of life. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to express our concerns.
