Ref: STB Finance Docket No. 35087 Dear Ms. Johnson-Ball, PLEASE vote against the acquisition of the EJ&E line by Canadian National Railway. My wife and I recently moved to Hawthorn Woods and had a baby boy 2 months ago. We live across the street from the railroad tracks which currently run about 3 trains per day. If CN takes over these tracks, we are very concerned for the safety of our child and how the additional train traffic will adversely affect our community (see list below). We will most likely try to move, but the increased train traffic will most likely lower our property value - and we will not be able to afford to move. Please do not let CN ruin our community! Thank you for taking the time to read this! Tim, Tracy, and Jackson Potential adverse effects of the acquisition - More accidents and deaths along the rail line - An increase in automobile traffic gridlock at rail crossings - Elevated pollution and noise levels - Dangerously longer response times of our Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Teams - Disruption and/or closure of local business activities - Adverse impact on our property values
