Approval of the CN request would put an undo burden on local taxpayers to fund mitigation measures, such as over and underpasses, in order to preserve life-safety services. I can't justify supporting such services required for a foreign business that has taken little or no responsibility for the costs they are creating. In addition, the community would suffer from traffic congestion, noise, and pollution. I feel it's unfair that my quality of life has to suffer in order that Cook County has less congestion (and only temporarily) and that CN would have a higher profit margin.
