The impact of the increased rail traffic (both in frequency and average length of each train) must be considered, especially with regards to the grade crossing at Odgen Avenue (State Route 34). This sale cannot be allowed unless there is some type of remediation implemented for this and other grade crossings where there is substantial traffic including emergency response vehicles (fire, police, ambulance) and also significant school transportation issues. Any remediation costs cannot be placed solely on the local community. This is not a new roadway, Odgen Ave (Route 34) has been there for over a hundred years and was there before the railroad was in place. If there is going to be a dramatic increase in rail traffic let the acquiring railroad pay for a a bridge over Route 34.
