In the recent Bartlett High School town meeting the STB began the meeting going over the rules and basic information for the meeting. One thing that the moderator mentioned seemingly as a basic formality was she needed to identify where the emergency exits were. I found this especially ironic as I live in Wayne and if this plan passes there will be in many cases no emergency exits for my family and I as we are boxed in on four sides of railroad tracks. A formality to the meeting - a basic necessesity but something that CN would not even consider for my neighbors and I. It seems as if this would be a national security threat. To not allow someone to flee in the event there is a accidental or intentional leak of chlorine or someother toxic chemical. I could have chosen to live in a city which had significant train traffic, or one that was near a major airport. I did chose to live here and I do live in a flight pattern for Dupage airport. My point is I should not complain about Dupage airport, I chose to live here. But it is not fair to have me redirect the planes to fly over other communities any more than the trains should now be pushed through these communities. We do not have the same overpasses and underpasses that they have. Additionally. their effect will be far greater on us without this infrastructure. Already CN has moved from 3 trains a day to 12 (I counted them on Saturday). Please stop this movement and prevent them from dangering my family (no exits), damaging the forest preserve environment and forcing our communities to take on the wake of problems just because they feel they can. Thank you.
