CN has made it clear they are not willing to assist in roadside upgrades if the purchase of the EJ&E is approved. The $40 million they have pledged will cover 2 crossings at best. Given the current economic climate, there will be no taxpayer money available for bridges, etc. to be built. The environmental impact of this purchase will be enormous. Barrington is already suffering because of traffic difficulties - the amount of trains CN wants to run on the tracks will paralyze this town and many others. The delays met by ambulances and school busses will be significant, with no positive impact from this purchase. Please consider all the negative environmental aspects of this purchase and DO NOT APPROVE IT!
