Comment EI-13835

Received or sent (printed as 9/30/2008)

Why are Chicago politicians and those they influence e.g. Chicago Tribune in favor of moving this rail traffic to the Western suburbs i.e. Naperville/Aurora? They want to spread the wealth/misery out of their backyards of increased traffic, travel times, and decrease community safety as people find their way to side streets and avert the waits on their main routes now overloaded with rail traffic. Increased rail traffic also increases the probability of accidents & collisions with cars, or derailments in very close proximity to family residential neigborhoods. Bottom line: This is unacceptable -- nothing positive for the community whatsoever.
