I am writing this comment to describe my personal experience and the possible consequences if the purchase of the EJ&E is allowed to proceed. On June 18th I experienced a heart attach at approximately 9:15 PM. After the 911 call was placed to the Barrington fire Dept., the paramedics arrived within 3 ½ minutes. I was in the Good Sheppard Hospital Emergency room 10 minutes after there arrival. Unfortunately, the EJ&E rail tracks are between my house and the fire department. If a train was passing at the time of my attack, I very likely would not be here to write this comment. To quote the cardiologist, “This could have taken you out”. The added delays in life saving emergency services due to the additional quantity and length of trains resulting from the purchase of the EJ&E are unacceptable. This purchase should not be allowed to proceed. Sincerely Edward T Helgason
