This is a final plea to consider the people and the villages that would be negatively impacted by the proposed acquisition of EJ&E by the CN Railway. Please use the STB's power to reject this transaction, based on the negative community impacts which would hugely outweigh the transportation benefits. While it is true the HR 6707 did not become a law, the STB does have this power. There would be major commuter gridlock, dangerous delays for first responder vehicles, loss of revenue for businesses, large increases in already high property taxes, etc. The list goes on and on. I was at the Barrington community meeting, I know you’ve heard all this. I was told that night, and this was admitted by an STB member, that the STB very rarely turns down a proposed purchase of this type. Please don’t let the people down on this matter. Please vote the purchase down OR hold the CN responsible for all costs incurred to make this safe. Thank you, Nancy Hadgisava
