If Canadian National starts using the tracks at the proposed rate, it will mean the death of our town... and several towns that are beyond ours - like Fox River Grove and Cary. Northwest Highway and Lake Cook Rd. will be like parking lots whenever a train passes through. Traffic is already a problem on these two streets. Because of the way the two thoroughfares intersect, a problem on one autopmatically creates a problem on the other. In addition, it will be difficult to get to the hospital from some parts of town and school programs that draw students from all over School District 220 (like the one I teach in) will be seriously encumbered, because children will arrive late for school.
