We live in Wayne, Illinois, and strongly object to the Canadien National Railway's proposed purchase of the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway. The EJE tracks run about 100 yards from my home. When we moved in two years ago, we counted less than a dozen trains going by each day. The propsal of CN to send more than twice as many trains through the EJE tracks will lead to an unacceptable level of noise in our community, cause congestion at the several crossings near my home, and make it difficult for emergency vehicles to access our community. We believe that increased rail traffic would significantly lower the value of our home. Please do NOT approve this action. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
