I was very disappointed by the preliminary environmental statement and found that it lacked detail in many areas including safety, noise, and environmental protection. The addition use by more than 20 new trains of the EJ&E railroad in the area in which I live will disrupt the economic vitality of my community, harm the safety of my high school student son, change the balance of nature in the ecosystem of the Cuba Marsh, which borders on my backyard and which is bisected by the rail line, and impede my ability to reach Good Shepherd Hospital in an emergency. Without a requirement for significant mitigation contributions from the buyer, these extremely adverse impacts will be borne by the residents of the communities involved and by the taxpayers of Illinois, without significant benefits being returned to our communities. Please study this closely and reject the application of CN to purchase the EJ&E.
