This note pertains to CN Railways proposed acquisition of the EJ&E railway. I need to express my strong support of this acquisition, not only on my personal behalf as a South Holland resident, but also on behalf of the church I serve - many of whose members live in South Holland. The amount of traffic tie-up on account of the number of trains currently running through South Holland has become dangerous. Yes, train stoppages are tedious - but much more than that, they currently create traffic situations where vehicles dart in alternate directions, through residential neighborhoods. The current frequency of train related vehicle movement is making it dangerous for children who play outdoors and live near these many bi-directions. For their sake, for the sake of a safer community, I would urge you to move forward with the steps necessary to seal this purchase - leading to the trains to move through fewer communities than they now do.
