My community is adjacent to the Burlington Northern rail yard in Aurora, IL. This yard has in recent years grown in size and dramatically increased activity. With that has come extremetly disruptive and annoying noise throughout the night hours. In addition this rail yard is adjacent to a District #204 Middle School. I am concerned about the noise and potential for hazardous material or explosive material dangers. Is there any oversight of the rail company activity. Is there anyway to designate this as a quiet zone? Does the rail company have any accountability for a good neighbor policy.
