I'm tired of Freight Trains that Causes Delays. I'm making my voice be heard. Metra properly managed can be a valuable tool. 1. I hear many times a week on the Metra Announcements that they are delayed because of freight trains. 2. I get to experience many times many times a week how a long freight train is keeping me from crossing the tracks to be on the proper side to get onto the Metra Train. Sometimes the Metra Train stays at the station as long as possible to still pick us up. 3. The “Train Decrease Per Day” info that was provided by the Village Elmwood Park says that up to 15 freight trains would be re-routed out of our communities. 4. I get to experience many times a week how a freight train comes to a complete stop for up to 15 minutes at times. 5. I get to experience many times a week how a freight train going only a few miles an hour (very slow) at the crossings. 6. I’m paying in full for lousy service that is caused by someone else. 7. I’m also late to work at times because of the delays that freight trains cause. Why should I travel an hour earlier all because of a freight train. 8. I have bills and taxes to pay.
