As a homeowner in Aurora only a mile away from the railroad, I am opposed to the CN's proposed acquisition. There will be more safety issues, noise, congestion and pollution that violates our rights as homeowners in the area. Our home values would decrease in an already depressed market. Had the purchase and increase in traffic happened before our home builds, that would have been our choice to live with the excess traffic near a railroad during our purchases. However, now that this is a community, we should have a say in what freight passes through, how much and when!
