I am writing to plead with you to do all that you can to stop the Canadian National Railway's plans to acquire EJ&E Railroad. I am a resident of Illinois whose family and community will be destroyed by CN's plans if they succeed. This proposed action is an outrage. It amounts to nothing more than an already extremely rich and profitable foreign company seeking to forcefully and needlessly destroy our communities in order to gain more profit, and do so purely at the expense of our health, safety, property and pocket-books. We need your help to stop this tremendous injustice. Also, I urge you to sponsor and pass HR 6707 this year before Congress adjourns this September so that our communities can be protected against this type of immoral profiteering, now and in the future. We desperately need your help, and that of the U.S. government. Please, help us.
