The Canadian National absolutely must reroute freight traffic from our community to the EJ&E Railway. Our densely populated communities have suffered for many years and the train traffic has increased dramatically. The present railway is in poor condition and the gates are constantly out of order on First Avenue, a major thoroughfare. The poor condition of the railway and the constant rail traffic impedes access to Loyola University Medical Center, a major hospital and trauma center in our communities.
