I live very close to the train tracks, and take my two kids to District 204 schools everyday. Every parent and child in my neighborhood has the same concerns. Traffic is already so congested with the current trains, and trying to pull out of our subdivision to get anywhere is close to impossible when there is a mile long of cars going through just after the train has passed. I do not believe that the DEIS fully recognizes the full impact of the proposed acquisition to our comminity. Not only that, but the safety concerns regarding pedestrian crossings have not fully been addressed either. On top of that, all of our home values will for certain go down as there will be a train blaring though double the amount of times it does already. There are so many issues at stake if the purchase of this rail line goes through. They are all at the expense of the people, chilren especially, that live in the surrounding communitites. Please DO NOT approve this purchase!!!
