I am writing in opposition to the proposed rail traffic expansion by CN through the Frankfort area. I recently purchased a third home in Frankfort near the rail lines with the 10 year experience that only a few trains pass by each day, including in the early am. Frequently my family including two children and a pregnant mom are woken up by the existing traffic. We are able to cope with the current amount of traffic but find it difficult at times. The proposed increase to twenty-eight trains per day will most likely make our lives miserable. The impact study does not address how the community and specifically subdivisions adjacent to the rail line are supposed to deal with the increased traffic and maintain any quality of daily life. Please stop by our subdivision, Cardinal Lake, in Frankfort so you can see exactly how close the rail lines are to residential housing and the hard impact increasing traffic will have on the residents.
