I am strongly against the sale of EJ&E to Canadian National. I live in the Westridge subdivision in Bartlett, which is west of Route 59, at the corner of Westridge Blvd. & West Bartlett Road. We have lived there for almost 6 years & love the neighborhood. The biggest downfall is that West Bartlett Road is only a two-lane road with the closest fire department on the other side of the train tracks. In the matter of life & death or my house is burning down, the EMS or fire department would be significantly delayed in getting to my residence, which could result in imminent death. Plus, there are thousands of children in the neighborhood going to local area schools. Why would we want to endanger their lives, by having to breath in the added contaminants? The children are our future, let them live healthy clean lives.
