Like all companies, Canadian National is looking out for the best interest of one entity -- Canadian National. The negative impact this will have on our communities is indescribable. Just last week, it took me 32 minutes to travel 6.1 miles to my child's school. Allowing additional train traffic will only exacerbate this problem. Canadian National wants all of the benefits without any of the costs. One of the main initiatives to alleviate congestion in our area is a regional train line. I have no doubt that this will not happen if this sale is approved. Canadian National says they need this line to help alleviate traffic on the tracks of Chicago. I don't believe in the sincerity of this statement. After initial rerouting to the suburbs, I think Canadian National will add more trains and the Chicago train tracks will be as busy as ever. Canadian Nation is a business. Like all businesses it would like to increase its profits. The best way to do this is to add additional lines with additional trains. I refuse to be snowballed" into believing that by making an expensive purchase and simply by re-routing current trains that their profits will increase dramatically. We all know that their true purpose for this purchase is not to alleviate train congestion, but to add additional revenue with additional train lines at the expense of those whom live around the EJ &E rail lines. Please oppose this sale."
