Dear Ms. Johnson-Ball: I am a resident of Frankfort, and I am formally opposing the proposed Canadian National Railway acquisition of the EJ&E Railroad. I am concerned that the negative impact to the quality of life in my community is being overrun by big business. This precedent-setting case needs the assurance that the STB will ensure that environmental impact to our community (and many others) is sufficiently considered. The $40 million CN has proposed to spend on infrastructure improvements is a clearly insufficient. If the STB approves this transaction, then CN should be required to pay for the improvements to our infrastructure. Please acknowledge that CN's safety record and questionable internal culture of intimidation can result in compromising the safety of my children, my home, and my village as more toxic chemicals would be hauling through town at 45 mph.
