this note is in regards to the STB Finance docket 35087 regarding CN's bid to purchase the EJ&E railroad which happens to border my backyard. i feel that necessary environmental research needs to be done prior to the sale on how this will not only affect the area but specifically how it will affect those living in the area (and by that i dont mean congestion/annoyance). i have 4 children in my home and there is nothing that i have read that indicates any affects of increased traffic and what is going to be hauled and how it will affect them and everything along the tracks. CN can state that traffic will increase up to 28 trails a day but we all know that's a pretty low number just for the sake of the public and would change as soon as the deal is done. The LEAST the STB can do for those villages that will be affected is to do a thorough study on how this business transaction will affect the people and environment all along these tracks. If this is something that we all will have to live with - we need to be sure that it's also something that wont harm us.
