I strongly oppose the Canadian National Railway's desire to acquire and significantly impact rail traffic on the EJ&E railway. Aside from significant traffic delays on a daily basis and increased noise the most significant impact would be emergency services. Current health facilities are within 1 mile from my home, but require crossing the tracks. There aren't any overpasses that would allow me to bypass this limitation. Additionally, fire and ambulance are also located on the opposite side of the tracks from my home and would not be able to reach me. The only reason for relocating" the current Canadian National traffic to the EJ&E rail was to offload congestion from current Chicago inner ring suburbs. These suburbs do have the under/over passes in place allowing citizens to get to/from emergency services that I do not. I firmly believe the desire to offset congestion from the existing rails is not reason enough to jeopardize the ability of Plainfield residence to gain access to emergency and health services."
