The CN proposal to purchase the EJ&E must be approved to help reduce our dependence on foreign oil and reduce pollution. The stats show, overwhelmingly, that train transportation uses less energy and emits less pollution than truck transportation. This purchase will reduce the time for trains to get through Chicago and further encourage the use of trains. Additionally 1,000's fewer cars and trucks will be waiting at crossings with their engines running further reducing energy uses and reducing pollution. I know they should shut their engines but most don’t.
