PLEASE listen to the people. We feel CN purchasing EJ&E RR would be a disaster. The crossings are closed every couple of years for repairs usually taking a week. With increasing train traffic from 4-5 daily trains to 20+ these crossing will need to be closed for repairs at least once a year creating even more conjestion & inconvience. Who will pay for these more frequent repairs. Again the tax payers? Will these repairs take money that would otherwise be used to improve existing roads? CN has a POOR record for safety & only cares about making profits. CN also has deep pockets & it refusing to commit on paper their plans for migration. I hope their deep pockets are not buying their quick approval. They must be up to no good or they wouldn't be in such a hurry to get this passed. Also, why won't they commit to migration?? Mayor Dailey wants this sale to happen but the trains in the city are at least stopped on overpasses not causing danger & inconvenience. Stopping trains on EJ&E tracks would completely shut down communities and cause extreme danger. The communities built up along the EJ&E were done knowing the tracks were used lightly & with CN changing this to extreme use will devastate everything surrounding these tracks. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A HASTY DECISION. We need more studies as to the impact CN will have on the surrounding communities. We also need a commitment in writing from CN as to their plans for migration and length and number of trains they plan to run. I recently tried calling your 800# & found you are no longer taking calls. Hope that doesn't mean you have already made a decision & everyone against the purchase is wasting their time. We the people are begging you not to let CN purchase EJ&E. THANK YOU!!! Karen Powal
