I am writing in opposition of the use of the EJ&E lines by the CN railway. The plan to drastically increase the number of trains through our community is totally unacceptable. The impact on the safety and quality of life of the residents MUST be considered. The population explosion in Will county over the past 10 years has already placed a strain on the roads and travel times through the suburbs. Increasing the number of trains that travel through our town by nearly 200% will undoubtedly impede the flow of traffic even more. Not only will ordinary residents feel the impact, but school buses trying to get to children and ambulances trying to get to those that need assistance cannot be delayed. The addition of 26 daily trains, some of which could be two miles in length, would certainly affect the routes and travel times of these vehicles. Please DO NOT approve this plan. Thank you.
