STB Finance Docket No. 35087. I strongly support the current proposal for the Canadian National Railway to purchase the Elgin, Joliet, and Eastern Railway as Elmwood Park receives a tremendous amount of railway traffic and the congestion is unbearable at times since the area is so highly populated. Also, from a public safety standpoint, it would be great if less trains come through given the fact that there is a school and so may businesses (banks, gas stations, etc.) close by. If approved, the freight train traffic would go through less populated areas and even out the freight traffic across the area. Lastly, the noise and pollution issues would also be lessened as the trains can be quite loud and the less trains, less amount of fumes. I am available should you have additional questions.
