Dear Ms. Johnson-Ball, I am writing in reference to STB Finance Docket No. 35087. The information that I have reviewed has suggested that if the sale of the EJ&E is allowed to complete then there will be some significant positive environmental changes. In particular, I've read that the sale will permit the CN railway to move their trains much more efficiently through and around the Chicago area, saving gas and reducing pollution. Assuming that the information I've read is correct I am writing to voice my support for the sale on environmental grounds. It seems to me that finding efficiencies in all forms of transportation is a key to preserving the environment and to minimizing further damage. In the ten years that I have lived in Buffalo Grove I have seen many freight trains come through my community. It really isn't that bad. I am certain that CN will continue to send freight trains through Buffalo Grove, and that's fine with me. To be clear: I'm not just trying to offload the freight traffic onto some other community. If there are clear environmental advantages to be gained as a result of this sale, then I think it is in our collective best interest to allow it. Thank you for your consideration and the opportunity to register our opinions. Sincerely yours, Doug Ross
