Regarding the Draft EIS for the CNR acquisition of the EJE RR. I am a Plan Commissioner for the Village of Bartlett. Please note my objection. The proposal would bisect our community for significant portions of the day, adversly affecting the useability of improvements and infrastructure that have been planned and built around the current traffic load of the EJE. Bartlett's new fire station and Koehler Fields are two recent major investments that rely on existing conditions. The service area for the fire station includes both sides of the tracks. Koehler Fields was built for the whole village, with games cycling throughout the day until about 10:00. The schools rely on current levels of access for transportation of children to and from school. Uncertainty about the ability to cross at any given time will cause the fields and schools to lose effectiveness for long and short term activities, causing them to be of less value to the community, and decreasing our quality of life in a very tangible way.
