What are the plans for increasing safety at these crossing to mitigate the impacts from the proposed action? To what extent will access be limited based on the proposed increase in traffic? What would the impact to access be if the proposed double track construction were to be pursued? How would access be guaranteed during that time, and how would obstruction be mitigated? Pedestrian & Bicyclist Safety: Prairie Path Availability of local bicycle paths is a key factor in my choice or Warrenville as a desirable place to live. The Illinois Prairie path is a key asset in the region, and the crossing of the EJ&E tracks (both north and south of the I-88 Tollway) is a grave concern. Already, these are unprotected crossing that are dangerous to navigate. How will these crossing be improved or eliminated (by way of bridges, etc.) in CN’s plan? With the increased traffic and increased speed, it is critical that safety issues be addressed at these crossing prior to approval of this purchase. If bridges are not provided, what would be the impact on the usage of these trails (people off-put by concerns of safety, noise, and waiting for trains)? What is expected to be the overall health impact of the resulting decrease in usage)? Are these matters considered as an indirect effect on the health of the surrounding communities? Thank you, and please feel free to contact me if there are further questions.
