The Honorable Anne K. Quinlan, Acting Secretary Surface Transportation Board 395 E Street, SW Washington, DC 20423 RE: STB Finance Docket No. 35087 Canadian National Railway Company and Grand Trunk Corporation - Control - EJ & E West Company Dear Ms. Quinlan: I am a citizen living in Aurora IL. My husband and I have two small daughters, 5 and 1. I oppose the sale of the EJ&E to CN. I get that the CN railroad loses money sending trains through the City of Chicago with the delays, etc., but too bad. That’s the price of running a business that should not be borne on the numerous communities that will be adversely impacted. To run these trains at a faster speed (with sometimes hazardous cargo) in my neighborhood - down the road from where my children go to school - is unacceptable. They need to just deal with the cost and work with the City of Chicago to get the trains through. Of course there is much emotion associated with this deal, but it really is simple. This is about money and business. It is CN’s business and they just need to pay and not shift their operating and risk costs on to others. Too often businesses are allowed through powerful lobbies to not pay the price of running their business. When are we going to say enough is enough? You have the power to stop this. Please listen to the outcry of citizens like me. Thank you. Heather Mieloszyk
