I had a prior commitment and could not attend the public meeting that occurred Sept 10th at IUN, regarding purchase of EJ&E RR by Canadian National (CN) RR. I am against the purchase of EJ&E by the Canadian National RR system. However, being a realist this appears to be a Done Deal" based on the increased train traffic I see on the EJ&E train tracks located about 40ft directly behind my home in Griffith. Consequently, as part of the final deal with the Canadian National RR, please have CN RR build noise reduction walls between railways and residents’ homes to block the increase in noise that I hear and lessen shaking of our homes that occur when these diesel driven trains come down the EJ&E tracks. Also, more importantly, it may protect a teenager’s life because it will prevent the teenagers from walking down these RR tracks as they currently do. The benefit of saving a teenager’s life far outweighs the cost of building these noise reduction walls."
