Reducing freight train congestion through the city of Chicago would be beneficial to the entire region. I live next to the St. Charles Air Line Railroad and I see every train that passes (many times each day). They are always moving slowly, or sit idle for several minutes to hours. This route costs the freight companies extra time to travel that could be spent avoiding the city and making their way up to Canada or to the west. The pollution that these idle trains spew as well as the gasoline wasted is an environmental concern for everyone. Please consider alleviating this freight traffic with the Canadian National Railway's proposal to reroute via the EJ&E line. Thank you.
