I am a resident of New Lenox, a community that will be negatively impacted with the increased number of trains being proposed with the purchase of the EJ&E railroad by the CN railroad, I would like to express my concerns. I understand that the number of trains may exceed 28 trains in the future and that these trains may extend 3 miles in length causing over 20 minute crossing delays. I strongly believe that this is unacceptable. If CN wants to come in to our country and do business lets have them do the right way, help fund the operation. We the taxpayers should have to foot the bill for them to do business, while they reap the profits. Have them put a percentage of their profits back into the communities they are affecting. Maybe we should consider taxing them. That money could be used to fund the over passes or under passes, safer crossings, hazzardious material training and equipment, etc. Further more this will not deplete any train traffic in Cook county, do they honestly think no one else will pick up the rails they are vacating. Think about it, it's not going to work the way it is being proposed. I beg you to do the right thing and make history. Stand up for our country and our towns, don't be walked on anymore. Please vote no to CN.
