I very strongly object to CN's proposed action. As a single mother it was a proud day when I was able to purchase a home for me and my two children. Yes, we did have to purchase a home next to the railroad but at the time it was a trade off for being able to put them in a SAFE neighborhood with great schools. I know all of the arguments for why this purchase should not be allowed as well as you do and I agree with every last bit of it. Here is a concern I haven't heard mentioned: Every night trains come through here blowing there horns and waking everyone. It is difficult for the kids to get a good nights sleep and go to school the next day being properly rested. It effects them more then anyone seems to understand or care to understand. This is not just my issue. I have spoke to numerous parents in the neighborhood and all of them have the same problem. While this is a tough problem for us now I can't see how any of these kids will be able to function day to day if this sale is allowed. I am no different then any other parent, we all want the same things for our kids. We want them to be happy, safe and have a good education. All of which will be near impossible with the sale of the railroad. Please don't let our American dream be crushed by a Canadian company.
