I wish to express my strong objection to the proposed CN-EJ&E railroad merger. The proposed merger jeopardizes the safety and the quality of living in my community as well as many others. It represents almost a sixfold increase of railroad traffic going through my community, disrupting traffic on all east/west roads, increasing noise at every hour of the day and night, interfering with the ability of emergency vehicles to get to the places they are needed, and significantly adding to air pollution. Overall, the merger threatens to increase the risk of accidents and other dangers while lowering property values.
